Can anyone offer resources to find quality used road/touring bicycles that fit someone 6'6''?
I'm understanding that 66 to 68cm is what a person that height will feel comfortable on.
Any information from the wise and experienced will be appreciated. Thanks!
I'll add that my PBH is between 39 and 40 inches and my inseam is 38, my sleeve length the same...38.
Thanks for your input and suggestions.

The only maker of a 66cm stock aluminun frame is Cannondale. The CAAD 5 comes in 66cm c/w a fork for around 460$.

Your inseam is more important than overall height.
I'm 6'6" with a 36" (pant) inseam. I ride a 62cm Surly Cross Check.

I've been shopping around for a larger sized touring bike lately here's about what I've learned.
For new bikes Rivendell is on the short list of manufacturer's making XXL frames but they're expensive. Trek currently makes the 520 touring bike in a 25" (63.5cm) frame which is close... but not quite.
As for used, I'd just check out ebay and craigslist. Check bike co-ops as well as they'll often have used bikes around that may work for you. Other than that you're often looking at something custom but again expect to spend a pretty penny. The vast majority of manufacturers don't seem to be making bikes much bigger than 62-64cm. I think it's a conspiracy...
I am 7' and I recently purchased a custom 68x65 Co-Motion Mazama. I think you'll be fine on the 66 cm bike, but why not get a professional fitting at your local LBS? It would be money well spent.
I rode two years on a 25" Trek 7200, but I understand you want a road bike. As stated above, your best bet is to look for someone selling a used custom...after you get a fitting.
Inseam is what is important. I'm 6'5" with a 34" inseam and ride a 61cm bike. Go to the LBS and get fit for a bike. Unfortunately, they will probalby have to order whatever bike you want.

If you end up with a 61cm bike, my LBS had plenty available when I was looking. Most of the people that walked in the times I am there are 5'8" or shorter. The only other tall person I ever see in there is the owner and he is probably 6' flat.
Go to a bike shop and see if they can get you a good fitting. Then start checking out craigslist if you want to find something cheaper. A good LBS will help you out as much as they can.
Good luck and ride safe.

You could check out the C&V forum. They actually made large bikes back in the day.

I"m 6'4" with a 35" pants inseam. I ride a 62cm Surly LHT and a 23" Rockhopper mountain bike. They both fit great. I think they'd be fine for someone your size, but like others have said, you'd probably be best getting fitted at a good bike shop. If I was your size I'd probably look twice at Cannondale.

Thanks BigBlueToe, I know my PBH is between 39 and 40 inches. I think it's the top tube that is key. I think it needs to be at least 24 inches for comfort.
