"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Winter training - Rolers/Headwind or Fluid Trainer?

Hi, all -
Ok, late winter training, but I need some input: I have a set of old (circa-1985, egad) Kreitler Challenger rollers. I'm trying to decide between adding the headwind "Killer KOOL" attachment to get some resistance out of them, or an entry-level (read: similarly-priced) fluid trainer (likely, aack, Nashbar's). I like riding the rollers, and am nursing a torn medial meniscus, but want to work on strengthening for the Spring.
Suggestions? Pros and cons? Opinions from those with either/both?

My vote is for the headwind attachment.

use the search function this has been debated a million times.
I vote trainer, others vote for rollers w/headwind unit. it really comes down to your own preferences.

Towel under rear roller, FTW. By far the cheapest option to adding resistance to rollers.
Though for me, if I am doing indoor intervals, I choose a fluid trainer.

Rollers hands down. At least rollers are entertaining, trainers are really really boring. This rainy season I've learned to do one legged drills on my rollers...just helps break up the tedium.

It'll keep you on the rollers. Trainers make me sad. This is my first year with rollers and i can tell you in 15 seasons of training i have never ridden a track stand on consecutive days. So far this year I've done multiple weeks of 6 days in a row of roller rides including some very intense VO2 max interval sessions. I like them. I feel like im 'riding' a bike rather than being on a bike. A stationary trainer just makes me wanna slit my wrists.
Thanks for the input, folks. I appreciate the opinions. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet, but nonetheless... :p
