Will kind of look like this, only with a Rocco World Cup for rear shock and 66 RC3 for fork.

Who says shopping, I decided on the bike and the spec already. I'll just order the frame when I'm ready to at work in the future.

The fisher is actually really beat to hell, plus I want a bike with a slacker geometry.

Surprised Profail doesn't tell you to get a gray saddle.
But yes, very nice bike.

Whats with the triple Crank? That's different seeing a triple crank on a freeride type bike.

Dannihilator

My build's not going to have a triple.

i definetly second that, except get a specialized enduro, way better.

for some reason ppl think its wimpy to have a granny gear, i usually use second on uphills and 3rd on descents, but its there for a reason, use it when you need it.

Nice. What crank you throwin on there? are you gone just transfer parts over from the Fischer?

Dannihilator
03-04-08, 08:11 PM
Probably just going to take the drivetrain from the fisher.

FR style bikes generally don't remove the granny gear but the largest cogs, often replacing them with a bashguard. DH people often run smaller cassettes to compensate for this.

ah, the largest ring, hmm, XCers are the one hoppin logs, i dont know why DHers need bash guards, seems like another ploy to wimpy up future generations.

lol.

Dannihilator
03-04-08, 08:22 PM
DHers need one because they only have 1 chain ring up front and if that gets screwed up you got problems.

I always thought they removed them for clearence? Don't DH bikes have low BB?

Dannihilator

Yes, relatively speaking.

the enduro i have is amazing, i have oversized chain rings and i have still never hit anything. The BB is amazingly high.

true but with proper geometry it works very well (in order to make it work, you need a 6 in + fork)

I like my bikes to have two chainstays.;)Doh! - - I forgot there IS no AS-X any more, just the Seven. It is an odd duck. Good thing the Bullit came back.

I predict something similar with Yeti in another couple years.

I came very, very close to plunking down cash on a new Bullit frame the other day. The deal breaker was sizing wise I like smack between the small and the medium size. Since Steve of SWD died, I'm doubtful that my frame on order from them will ever see the light of day, so was shopping around. Looked at a medium built up in a local shop the other day; IMO, the old Bullits where nice, but these new ones are much better/more refined.

Ding! 07 Iron Horse Yakuza Iniki full bike for a grand. A bunch of guys on the local forums already have dibs on the parts spec. Selling the Preston frame for nearly what the Iniki cost. Swapping all the parts over. Going to a shorter stroke/i2i DHX 5.0 air to lower and slacken things up, and splurging on a King 1.5 Reducer headset. Should break about even on everything, or even slightly ahead.

Not a glamorous frame by any stretch, but the sizing and geo of the 15" frame is what I want in the long run. Simple single pivot works for me. In fact the FedEx guy just dropped the thing off...time to get working.

No, I've just had too many irons in the fire to mess with setting it up (and to shoot some prettier photos). I will probably post it up this weekend.
