It's finally here! Our team, the Crank Crushing Red Necks (My husband named the team) will be at it tomorrow! We have both been training for months now. We hope to do well. Unfortunately it is raining so it's going to be a mud fest. AArgh!
Cool beans, CB!
Good luck to you and Sam. Remember, if it's going to be muddy, bring a bathing suit. There's nothing men like better than to see women rolling around in mud, so you should be all set! ;)
Good luck with your ride, and be sure to give us the details and pics afterwards!

Would this be the race at the horse park?
That trail is definitely one of the hardest around and in mud would be deadly. The granite section on the back side will break plenty of bones if wet and people ride it too fast.
Crank crushing rednecks huh? I guess you will all be riding in hunter safety orange or camoflage too! :D

we are riding in hunter orange jerseys. I'm going to bring my suture kits and trauma bag. The granite side is going to be slick, slick slick.

Hope the entire team finishes and most of all, remember to have fun. 24hr races can be a blast. One long party while riding/racing.

Just keep in mind that Tinker Juarez was beaten by nearly 20 minutes in a 30 mile race on that course in the '96 olympics when he was at the top of the game.
If that is not testimony to the difficulty of the trail then nothing is.

CB, always the doctor!
Well, have fun anyway, don't ruin your race, though....

We came in third in the cooperate division. I think there were close to twenty teams in this cooperate division. We were neck and neck with the second place team until the last lap. We don't count the first place team loaded with junior expert riders( vs. us weekend warriors.) It was nice to beat the Army Rangers team though. It was a blast as usual. Next year, I will be sponsering another team. We will have pics posted later after Sam and I recover.
Congrats! I'll be looking forward to those photos. Did you get to play doctor at all? ;)
Besides the pictures, I'd love to see the blow by blow commentary of what happened when you guys get the chance.
Great job! Whoooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
