Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey everybody! Just wanted to throw out an invite to our race on Saturday -- the Tri-Flow Menlo Park Grand Prix. The race is located at the Bohannon Industrial Park -- just off 101 @ Marsh Road. Racing action begins at 8:00am and new races start each hour until 4:00pm. Come spectate, cheer, race, take photos, have fun!

Details here:

ps -- we still need a handful of volunteer course marshalls (men or women) so if you'd like to get up close and personal to the racing action, shoot me an email! all volunteers receive a limited edition Tri-Flow Menlo Park Grand Prix t-shirt (funky and cool).

Oooh we should check it out. How about starting or ending Ron's b-day ride in Menlo Park?

Slightly off topic question. I'm not a racer, but enjoy watching a race from time to time. Where can I find a listing of local races? They don't seem to be well advertised (to spectators). Thanks.

Hey Johnny! You'll find a calendar or road races at http://www.ncnca.org/road/

If you click the links for mountain, cyclocross, or track, you can find those schedules as well.

Sounds like a great plan. I'll look into re-routes tonight.

We have several options. We can bypass Kings Mountain Rd, check out the races, then go climbing, or climb Kings Mountain Rd, and make a detour to the races, or just skip Kings Mountain rd, and check out the races.

I think once we hunker down at the race we'll loose motivation/momentum to ride, you know how it is.. so the climb 1st would be great. I need to look at your map of the ride.

BTW what about the cold? are you ok? false alarm or.....AIRBORNE !APPLIED DIRECTLY TO THE HEAD-AIRBORNE APPLIED DIRECTLY TO THE HEAD-AIRBORNE APPLIED DIRECTLY TO THE HEAD-AIRBORNE APPLIED DIRECTLY TO THE HEAD : )

I think I should be fine by the weekend. Not sure how strong I'll be at that point though. Any objection to skipping King's for now? If you are worried about lack of climbing, don't worry ... I can add a few more in there.

Didn't use airborne at all .... relied on theraflu and wrapping myself in a cocoon.

BTW, the route as it is originally planned is King's Mountain, south on Hwy 35, onto 84. That's after some short climbs around Los Altos Hills.

Yes. Nothing wrong with doing a climbterium after watching a criterium.

Looking forward to it!
Even though the course would be a lot better if it had a hill. :D
I'm racing at 3PM. I'll be one of the many Morgan Stanleys in the race.

I figure if go to the races first, we'll catch either the men's 3/4 35+. But if we do King's Mountain first, we may see Elite 3 or Men's 45+.

I'm good for whatever, just want to make sure I get some cake and Ice cream, and I get to keep my party hat.

My race is at 12:00pm. Enough time to warmup and support couple friends who start earlier.

GO GREEN!
