Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - former single speed

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I had a Murray bicycle that said something on it about the Olympics in '80 or something (the one the US boycotted). I found it on the side of the road near my house, rusted and nonfunctional. I fixed it up nicely(relatively) and then (though it would not shift) I had some good rides. Next, it was stolen.

someone stole a single speed?
thieves seem to like bikes with fancy gears and all the other junk. although watching someone try to ride off after they stole a fixie would be quite hilarious.

onetinsloth,
it would definitely be sad, but they would have a u-lock or something flying quick and hard at their head if i saw them. i just think it would be funny watching someone trying to get up and ride away on it. btw, do you have pictures of your fixie? i keep seeing a few around town everyone now and then. i need to start like a secret berkeley fixie salute.
