There's many a clump with golden blooms ready to open in Black Diamond! Another day or two... the green is just about at that most stunningly electric phase, tree buds are swelling, humming birds chirping... soon the swallows will be back.
Winter habits, heh, I ate at least three bugs today.
My knees hurt a bit - haven't sorted out the fit on my road bike yet, and yesterday noticed that hitting a bump at the top of the downstroke brings a stab of pain, so, today the mtn bike t' Black Diamond! Oh, it felt soo good! Having all those gears, immediately, makes a difference as well as the suspension and dialed in fit.
Stewartsville is in good shape up to just past the drive in camp. From there, up Oiler, which is in very nice shape; the first saddle, just after the grove of trees, isn't too bad at all, but the last stretch up to the second saddle, where the power lines are, is kinda cuppy, but not as bad as last year. Star Mine is in fabulous shape! ...and the sand pile is still wet and packed in, what hasn't washed away entirely - it's my "new favourite," at least until the blading gets done. The right side of Old Homestead is o.k. up to the first pond (darkness approacheth), on the way up, but a bit rough coming down; the Four Bulls are up there, watch out!
Only got in twenny miles, but I leaked more sodium, that's sure.
The Myata may get dusty for a while now... ...but, thanks to her, I'm "ahead" of last year - threshold is significantly higher!
