This is a three day 180-odd mile ride sponsored by the American Lung Association of Maine. It starts in the mountains near the NH border and ends at Owls Head on the Atlantic shore. Very well supported and lots of fun.

I too will be riding the Trek!

The Trek Across Maine is a spectacular ride! Climbing the mountain on the first day is my own personal Alpe d'Huez. This will be my 3rd year riding the event and unless the Lung Association raises the price I will be doing it for years to come. My team is called "Much Ado About Biking" since we were founded by myself and another fellow English Teacher. This ride covers some of the most spectacular vistas that can be found in this country. If you want to do a ride through ever changing terrain of Maine you should check it out!

Thanks, and hopefully all this snow will melt soon!

I just might be there, too.

The Trek Across Maine truly is a great ride. As their first visually disabled bicyclist, I've ridden the Trek 14times without quitting. Each time presented new experiences of their own. When not on the road, it's a great time to spend with cyclists from everywhere. I've ridden with Team Maine General Medical Center
and may ride with Team Bicycle Coalition of Maine.

Hopefully, all will go well and I will be there, too.

I didn't have any trouble crawling (slowly!) up the mountain, but the hill at its base on the other side nearly did me in.

Oh yeah, that hill at the start of the climb is brutal. The worst part of it is that it comes right after a rest stop, so the legs have cooled down and you jump on the bike and go UP!

I've been riding on a trainer in my basement and I'm sick of snow. When will it end?
