First, pictures...

Here's the deal. I'm selling my Le Roi from the BF group buy. I built it up, and have ridden it twice. It's basically new. I just don't get the opportunity to ride it, plus I need $$$ for a new team bike, so it's for sale.

First off, it's a 54cm frame. The lovely Longhorn decals do (easily) come off, and will be removed prior to shipping. Possibly an easier way for you to get a hold of one of these bikes (I've already gotten it from Patrick, verified that it's a great frame, in perfect condition, etc).

Build specs:

Frame: Wilier Le Roi 54cm (new)
Fork: OEM 12k weave fork (whatever Patrick had specced with the bike -- super light)
Extras: Salsa Lip-Lock Red seatpost binder, Ritchey headset, Thomson Elite set-back seatpost
Stem: Ritchey WCS 100mm
Bars: Ritchey WCS, 40cm
Cables: Nokon (both brakes and shifters -- cool alternating red/black pattern, see pictures)
Shifters: Sram Force
Rear Derailleur: Sram Force
Front Derailleur: Ultegra SL
BB/Crankset: Ultegra SL (172.5 crankarms)
Brakes: Sram Rival
Chain: Sram 1090
Saddle: Specialized Toupe Team Black/Red

The SL's in the picture aren't included (they're being sold locally). However, I have purchased some Easton Tempest II clinchers (brand new) for it, with Red Vittoria tires and a Sram 1070 11-26 cassette.

Your choice, you can either buy the bike with or without the wheels. I *may* consider parting it out, but I'd like to wait a while before I agree to do that, because I don't really want to deal with the hassle of selling individual parts.

I added it up, and came up with $1950 spent on the bike, not including the wheels/tires/cassette (ouch). The wheels were ~$450 on eBay, tires were $40 (hooray, PBK), and cassette is another $50.

I'm not asking that much for it. I was thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of $1500 for the bike without the wheels, maybe $1900 for the bike with the wheels. That being said, I'll most certainly consider offers... Just don't waste my time by offering $700 for the whole thing (or something like that).

I'll post up some new pictures tonight of the bike with the Easton wheels and tires/etc on it.

Thanks!

Pictures with current wheels, as of tonight. I also forgot to note that the wheels have Salsa (red) flip-off skewers.

ALSO, forgot to add that the bike will include the Arundel 'oil slick' carbon cages. Another $100 or so.

Just wanted to say - Wow, nice build dude. I wish I had the funds. Seems like this bike was built for me, down to using my favorite saddle.

Awesome deal for whoever snags it..

Don't know what you paid, but that bike is as good if not better than a Felt F3C which is > $3000 (IMO better).

artyarar is right. And another thing, the keyword is fiance. This is a good test, if someone passes, goto GO and collect $200 ;)

If you said wife, then it's another story.

So who from Brooklyn put up their Le Roi on eBay?

I think that pic is from iansir, and he sold it recently to someone on bf.

It's a powerseller that put up the first bid, and the seller is Rochester NY.

If it's not iansir, the seller is reusing iansir and patricks pics

In what way are the Le Roi frames not direct from the factory? Patrick brokered the deal and shipped the frames, but the frames essentially came from the factory. Maybe it isn't factory direct b/c the factory's shipping department didn't send out the frames? Like they would ever ship out frames to individuals in the US?? Come on...you get consumer goods 3 ways- from a retailer, from a distributor, or from the factory. Patrick's sale was way more "factory direct" than anything else- he is certainly not a retailer and the small number of frames he sells is nothing in comparison to what a distributor sells (not to mention a distrib would have an agreement w/Wilier).

Uhm..ok..I guess the auction is yours?

I was under the impression that while the frames were made out of the Le Roi mold, they weren't necessarily Wilier frames. Even if I am wrong, which I readily admit might be the case, you justifying calling it factory direct by saying the factory wouldn't really ship to individuals in the US makes no sense.

Anyway, whatever. I really don't care. Sorry if I offended you.

The frame might be a factory reject (or rejected by Wilier due to cosmetic—or worse, tolerance—issues). Or someone might have stayed behind and laid it up specifically to make a few extra bucks (in which case they could've used a more economical lay-up). Perhaps Patrick can clarify, sounds like a good deal to me either way though if I were to choose I'd pick slightly-out-of-spec over completely-different-bike. The point is calling this factory-direct is misleading; for all you know it's a completely different bike.

It's also misleading to say that it comes with a replaceable hanger when it doesn't.

Perhaps it is not misleading if it is true? See attached pic.

You just fabricated a number of hypotheticals that are contrary to what Patrick has represented. Why anyone would advertise such fictions is beyond me.

My bad. I thought it was confirmed on the other thread that the hanger was not replaceable like some Wiliers, perhaps I should shut up when I haven't seen it firsthand.

They are hypothetical and the point is you don't know. I've corresponded with Patrick enough to know that if he comes out with a good deal at the right time I'd pony up for one of his frames. But that doesn't mean I'm not being realistic as to how these frames become available in the first place. Definitely not factory-direct.

Definitely not factory-direct.

Agreed! These kinds of 'shades of truth' are exactly what I despise about ebay. If the seller is ethical he will describe the origins and history of the frame. It was not made by Willier, but rather by a factory where Willier sources frames.

On another note....the seller shows the frame on a scale that resolves to +/- 2.27gr (1/100lb=4.54gr) then states the weight to within 0.1 of a gram. A minor discrepancy, but it illustrates further the sellers preference to marketing hype over the truth.
