anyone been to a keirin race in japan? interested in going to shizuoka soon...

im going to be in japan in a few weeks, and i saw that the 2008 Japan Championship is March 18-23. has anyone gone to one of these events?

i'm going to be in ito, on the east coast of iku from what i can tell. everyone says its super cheap to go to most keirin events, but will that be true for the final day of the Japan Championship? March 23rd? should i try to get a ticket before?

I didn't think you had to get tickets to watch because it is basically going to gamble at the horse track (but bikes). You might have to get tickets for the better/cleaner/less bitter drunks "vip" sections.
