has anyone ever ridden on a Fire XC Mud tire I was interested in getting a set as I have been really pleased with the performance of the Fire XC pros that I used to have. However I don't need something so aggro. I am looking for the same tread depth of the Fire XC pro just in a 2.4.

FireXC mud comes only in 1.8 or 1.95, it is an XC tire strictly for mud conditions. If you want something similar to the FireXC but in larger 2.4 size, try the fireFR 2.4.

I don't understand the concept behind making the tire more narrow when riding in mud. Personally I want a wider tire for all conditions except extreme hardpack. I don't buy the whole deal about it cutting down through the mud. Personally I'd rather have more knobs on the ground and a good mud-friendly tread.

has anyone ever had any experience with the Specialized Evil twin tire. The tread looks pretty aggresive to be used for normal riding, but when it comes to loose conditions, it looks like it could handle the job nicely.
