Could anyone provide instructions for assembling a IPOD player for a bicycle. I have an IPOD, a couple of small Polk Audio car speakers and an unused seat bag. What is needed to make the IPOD power the speakers? Anyone have a Radio Shack parts list or something like it?

Would I be better off to bite the bullet and purchase this?; http://www.cyclesound.net/

land shark; i'm in clive, im working on a rig. i bought a seatpost mounted bag. got a sonic impact amp. it's only about 12watts/ch, but it's VERY efficient. a small SLA battery and now i need to pick the right speakers to put in it. the whole thing shoud be about 8lbs and should be able to play at decent volume all day. i also picked up a SCOSCHE ipod remote that will allow me to run the whole thing from a stem mounted remote control. pm me and ill give you my add so you can see how far i've gotten and maybe give me some of your ideas.

Did you ever see the unit from cyclesounds? I heard one on RAGBRAI last year that sounded pretty good. They are around $159.00

Not directly answering your question but....
I use this on my commuter bike. Only a single speaker but it sounds pretty descent. I got it for $39.99 at TJ Maxx. Fits on water bottle mount... has a handlebar remote....pretty rugged too...

Found an iHome iH85B for under $50 (w/shipping) -- works great on back country roads, volume is reasonable and adjustable, you can pause it on the go, and sound is adequate. I tend to turn it off in traffic and more urban areas to avoid disturbing others and allow me to hear cars better -- but functions as advertised...
