My Dr. was astounded at how much my 'Bad Cholesterol' had decreased as opposed to the kinda lousy 'Good Cholesterol' had increased. In addition to that, I was astounded at my BP. 120/70 for a 51 y/o that's had a fairly dubious past is outstanding!

EKG is good and the other one where they check out your pump is good....weight's even down 5#

She asked 'what did you do?'

I said, I got a set of rollers and a trainer for my bike and then bought a new bike and use it.

She asked, is it a road bike? Is it a stationary bike? For a well learned person she didn't seem to get it, so I gave her a brief synopsis of what a trainer is. She was smiling from ear to ear....and....so was I, I guess she's not a cyclist, although she looks like one :)

So in another couple of weeks I'll have a lung test. I'll call it the lung-ometer. Dr. says, depending on how those results come out, she may give me an inhaler to expand the bronchial tubes for more O2 transition during exercise/riding.

I'm in! Riding tonight!

:)

Well done.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to convince your doctor to start cycling too.

Nothing like hearing the results of those tests when they have a positive outcome.

Congrats, and keep it up!

Good news, and great job.

I wonder what happened to my post from yesterday to this thread.

OK, great job on the tests and trying to explain rollers to people is not easy. I have family members that think I am completely nuts, or maybe more nuts than that thought I was before I got hooked on bicycles in 2007. They said anyone that puts in 115 miles on a bicycle on little roller thingies in the basement should be committed. Maybe they are right.

Good luck with your future tests and keep having fun with your bike!!!!
