Any one know who makes 24" wheels, rims. Im guessing Im only gonna find 24" road rims, not track. I want to build up a pursuit bike. Has any one out there ever ridden a pursuit with a 24" front? What are they like?

ok, so explain to me why it doesn't work. do they HAVE to be tubular to run on the track? road usually equals track. unless you've heard of the new cyclo-cross/mtb velodrome craze. holla.

people use/d Araya tubular 'track' rims on the road too. I am not sure about the difference, save a better braking surface. If you are dealing with 'vintage' rims, that might not even matter.

But yeah, I don't see what would be different/bad with using a road rim. Plentiful even in 24"

Yikes. . . The skewer is on the hub.

OP aren't you in Japan?
Weren't you the one talking about going to frame builders around Tokyo and stuff?
Just go to a shop and ask if they have anything laying around.

They still make 24" MTB's. My buddy is riding a 24" Giant MTB. Thats contradictory.

For a nice name-brand, I'd vote Yahoo Auctions first. But, as you may know, there are lots of road "mini-velo" bikes here. And some of them use 24 inch wheels, especially in the back. I don't have more info than that, sorry. Have you asked at any shops? I'd imagine any bike shop that stocks little bikes should be able to order them, a safer bet would be one of the Y's shops. The one in Shinjuku has a pretty wide mini-velo section.

A slim profile 24" mountain rim wouldn't be a bad option either.

I have a 24" sugino 75 carbon disk! nothing other than that apart from 650c stuff....

zettai yahoo auctions. you might have to wade through a lot of **** to find them though...

Just FYI in case you didn't know, there are multiple 24" standards
the one you want is the 520mm Beat seat diameter (not 507 or 540 or 547).

and yeah, what's a "track rim"

I'm running a 24" front on my Bob Jackson. It's a Sun rim. You can get tires from wheelchair websites/stores.

24" wheelchair rims/tires tend to be 540mm. Most "road" 24" rims are 520mm

okay, so I was at Y's Road in Shinjuku today and they have a Giant minivelo road bike with 24" wheels. Alex rims model DA-22. They also had the rims available separately at 3,300 a piece. There were two or three in stock.
