yeah so about about two days in advance one of my teachers asked if i would be interested in climbing the south sister here in oregon, i was totaly stoked! having never done anything like this and was thrilled to go! so yesterday my teacher, and 5 other guys went on to climb a 12 mile (round trip) and a 5000 foot in elevation gain (up to about 10,300 feet). most of the way up it was faily dry with minimal snow, but halfway up we where on snow the rest of the way. it was a crisp 70 deg day but i was still VERY cold tords the top due to some wicked wind i would say at a steady 45-55 miles. it was a hell of a trip! i loved every minute of it! cant want to do mt, Hood come spring time :P
here is a pic of the south sister (with a bit more snow on it than now) its the one on the far left (largest one)

sweet!
i have climbed South Sister about 4 or 5 times... in the fall as well as as a snowboard descent i Spring.
i have also climbed Mt Hood 4 times and Middle Sister is also a nice climb (climbed twice - once from north, once from the south)... I attempted the "3 sisters marathon" with some friends in 2000 but we only did Middle and South sister. the "marathon" is climbing all 3 peaks in one outing - usually in less than 24 hours. but North Sister is considerably harder.
Climbing is awesome --- i attempted Mt Rainier is 2000 and Mt Blanc in 2002, but both were not successful b/c of weather. and in Europe i have now climbed many peaks (like Grossglockner at 3980m)
Ski touring is my winter supplement to mountain biking.

Cant see the pic in the OP link?
I used to do a lot of mountain climbing it's very addictive, you always want more. Some of the Mexican volcanoes were the biggest peaks I've climbed at around 18k ft.
