Not for Captain Obvious! But there I was watching the Paris Roubaix, doing some pre-trip business planning, enjoying an organic beer and munching on peanuts when I realized...maybe my lifestyle is not conducive to improving W/kg goals.

Seriously how can you meet the goals while sitting on your arse eating peanuts and swigging beer? Oh well. Time to hit the CT and punish myself for not realizing it sooner. ;)

i just drank a McD's chocolate milkshake (580 calories, but only 120 from fat ;)) so i can't really help you with that one, mate.

That was the Paris-Nice, not the Roubaix

Peanuts are evil. They're marketed and known to be "good for you" yet nutritionally, they're essentially a caloric weapon of mass destruction.

Beer however, in moderation, is necessary. Nothing like a cold one or two after a long day in the saddle

Bottle of decent beer: 150 calories
1 decent sized handful of peanuts: 850 calories

:D

Ride more. Never eat less.

I should prob reconsider that if I ever want to go up hills quickly.

Dude, I'm 9 pounds overweight....at least....weighed in at 149 pounds AFTER riding today, and sweat my ass off on the ride. Oh, and I forgot my waterbottles at home, so I was riding for 2 hours and 10 minutes with nothing to drink.

I had cannolis for dinner.

Yeah.....my dieting willpower is gone. I really need to get it back, and get back to 140. Dammit.

I ride my bike for two primary reasons: beer and ice cream. Everything else is secondary. Well cake is probably tertiary. Nom, nom, nom.

say, what kind of organic beer is that anyway?

i just drank a McD's chocolate milkshake

Incorrect

That "shake" contained no milk at all. There's a reason they only call them "Triple Thick Shakes"

Well this weekend, I had liquid currage to sing on top of the bartop of my favorite Local brewery. Then I got free beer for the night, and I was wondering why yesterday I felt fat and slow? I know what you mean.

My wife made cookies last night. A load of cookies. A pile of cookies. I slapped her ...

on the butt and grabbed several of them before sitting down on the couch to pass out.

The label looks like Schneider-Weisse (http://www.schneider-weisse.de/), but I can't tell which one. I will pretend that it's Aventinus, because Aventinus is delicious.

There is no dieting rule against good beer. I myself have found a new favorite in Shiner Black Lager. Heaven in a bottle.

Train first, then drink beer. I have at least one per day. Yesterday I had 2. Sam Adams Cream Stout and a Spaten Optimator. Beer is a better reco drink than chocolate milk IMHO. That's my story and im sticking too it.

You need to be enlightened on the glories of brewing your own beer.

That way, the beer isn't just something that that makes you fat and slow.

It makes you proud, fat, and slow.

Geez, how many calories do you guys pack away in a day? I find it hard to fit in enough time to eat the 3,000 + calories i need..

i've been slowling dropping weight when i really shouldn't be.

today i smelt ammonia for the last 45 min of my 3 hour ride, came home made a shake and oatmeal and ran out the door for work (only 1.5 hours), came home and heated up some turkey breast, 2 ears of corn, and some Kamut pasta.

As I recall, you are 19. Here is a friendly warning. Your metabolism will catch up. If I ate what you just listed, I would be 5 lbs. heavier tomorrow. There is some multiplicative relationship with age and food I don't quite get. When 18, I could eat a couple of McDonald's value meals, some ice cream, and quite a few soft drinks and still lose weight. Now? Not so much.

And don't drink more beer until you are 21, especially not in the presence of law enforcement officials. (your friendly PSA).

I thought that an ammonia smell indicated not enough protein consumption. Yes? No?

While my cat does indeed like to sleep on my kit (or any clothing he can get his paws on), he hasn't yet peed on it :D

Nothing wrong with beer or peanuts.
