Hey guy's what are your opinions on Giro helmets? Specifically the HEX, as I am looking for a good quality helmet for all terain riding.

Thanks in advance

giro makes a good helmet, make sure it fits correctly.
i prefer Bell helmets myself, but have used performance and paramount (schwinn) as well. make sure dome is snell/ansi certified and upgrade/replace as needed.
my wife uses giro, likes it alot!

I don't know anything about the HEX but i can say that my Giro helmet is extremly comfortable and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Giro and Bell are both excellent helmets. Although they are still operated as seperate companies, they are owned buy the same parent company (I think Bell Sports) who bought out Giro in the mid to late 90's. Giro and Bell share technology but they still size their helmets differently.

So I suggest you try both Giro and Bell and buy the helmet that fits YOU best.

They're good -- if it fits, go ahead and get one.

If you can't find one to try in person (most shops carry Giro and Bell, at least), you can still fine-tune the fit a bit with the included add-on pads.

But, still, this is one of those things that I'd really recommend trying out for yourself. You'll be spending a lot of time with it on your head, so you want it to be as comfortable as possible.

I have used both Giro and Bell. As far as fit and function go, they are equivalent to me, but I have crashed with a Bell helmet and found that their replacement policy is much harder to deal with than the Giro policy, so my last new helmet was Giro (Pneumo).
