We are starting out with a possible SFVBC ride, but we reserve the right to do our own thing. Our route back is not set in stone. I will be making sure BikeWNC is having a good time and not watching out for other riders. If joining us, please realize this is not going to be a no drop ride.

Jason, since you've rode with BikeWNC before, how do you compare his rides (speed-wise) compared to the "normal" BF pace? This is just to gauge the speed these rides will be done at. Thx!

In December, BikeWNC was a bit faster than me. I think it's a safe assumption that he is about as fast as I was back in October when I was actually in shape, if not slightly faster than that. This is just talking about climbing speed. He's also faster than me on flat ground.

Speaking of which, it's time for me to start getting back in shape. Back to trainer rides I go. On the bright side, the weekend rides truly are meant to be social rides. He plans to chase M.E. up Baldy, and I plan to pace M.E. up Baldy. So he'll be chasing me, and as you know, I'm not all that fast right now.

I'm game for Palomar ride if I don't get picked for Jury duty that Monday. And maybe the Baldy ride if nothing comes up. I'm outa shape so I doubt I'll be climbing fast., just enough to spin the gear I have.

I was thinking maybe closer to Pasadena, but LA would be fine, too.

Yum, food! :) All I did was eat this weekend. No riding at all. I did sit by the side of a river for 6 hours Sat and Sun watching some trout swim around in an eddy. I was supposed to be timing a kayak race but I really wanted to catch those fish so I could ship them to ME for pets. :)

BikeWNC, you'll be pleased to know that N at RB confirmed tonight that she likely will be working on the Sunday night when you're out here. And she told me that when I bring my friends in, I should look for her. So you can get beer from N after all. :)

A lot depends on how well I recover. I most likely won't make it, but I may see everyone at the start. If you need a SAG, I might be interested in doing that. We'll see.

Not sure that would be my choice, but I have had cow heart before, marinated and grilled it wasn't bad. Still, I might stick to something more routine for me.

Yeah, chicken wings, chicken heart, liver, beef, beef tongue, pork, etc. They also have beef/chicken/salmon rice bowls, though mainly used as a filler. Drink-wise, the usual coke, kirin beef (don't remember if they have "more western" stuff), sake, soju (sp?).

Oh, I was out riding with a new chick and we were up that way and it was me talking about you and how fast you are (I was telling her about the women who ride with the group and that there aren't many, but the ones we have - like you - are great). You go flying down GMR when I creep down it.
