i'd say there's your chance to get off the front. miserable conditions take the fight out of most.

In SoCal term it's what .0004 percent? :p Even if it rains the course doesn't look technical. So shouldn't be a problem.

better start practicing how to cut grooves in those slicks.

Yeah... every race I've been in that has had 180 degree turn arounds involved a crash in the lower categories at nearly every turn around.

yeah... thats the ONLY place to be... Off the front:p - Keep attacking, eventually people will get tired of chasing you and they will let you go.

Well in the Cat 4 race it's going to be like 10 guys now that you posted it here.

i think the biggest problem is most guys in the "break" really only increase the pace....rarely have i seen any guys actually jump...and i mean jump to a break...they just kinda bump it up and that allows others to catch right up...you gotta make them work to get to you or you're just wasting time.

[disclaimer] member has not actually tried these techniques but reads about race tactics allot.

^ You're right. Many break away attempts at this level seem to be half thought out and just end up with the pack speeding up to catch them. I imagine some of that goes on at every level, though, as it's part of the game.
