Hi all,
I'm trying to brighten up the lights on my battered old New Hudson Roadster, as they're not really adequate for modern conditions at all. So far all I've done is fit a bridge rectifier to convert the AC output of the dynohub to DC .... & at that point I'm stuck!
What I'd like to do is fit an in-line 'super capacitor' into the long since redundant 'Dyno-luxe battery back up tube' to power the lights for a few minutes when stationary. I'm also interested in using modern LED's instead of the the traditional bulbs, though I'd like to fit them to the original rusty lamps to maintain what little is left of the bike's 1950's charm!
I'm getting 8 volts DC at an average speed which raises to 15 volts when going as fast as possible; Can anyone make an educated guess as to what rating capacitor & LED's I'll need based on that?
