Thanks. That is a good proposal. Although it doesn't let the mid-Atlantic region to express a separate regional identity, it does solve the DC area problem.

I think that's a good solution as well as long as all the Virginia folk are fine with it.

I've got to disagree w/ Rolling15's suggestion. That just makes makes the northeast forum even bigger than it is (in terms of geography). Looking at the polls in both forums it seems the votes are clearly in favor of a separate mid-atlantic forum.

Polls? I see more posts against a separate section than for - do you work for Diebold? ;)

That's the beauty of voting, you can't vote more than once. Posting? The same people can drone on and on...;)

Well except there are 2 polls. One in each forum. And only one posts the username with the vote. So people can in fact vote twice, and without being known.

That was my mistake. I made the first poll in NE without making the responses public (I thought I was protecting privacy) but when I made the second poll in SE I realized that public responses would be better. Unfortunately the mods were not able to change the poll after-the-fact.

...why not move DC and Maryland into the Southeast forum...

Mason-Dixon line. Makes sense to me.
