Hi,

I just bought i new bike and i havent ridden one since i was a kid so i know nothing about them now. I bought a diamondback 21 speed with grip shift and i was wondering if anyone could give me some info on gripshift and how it works. when i try to change up the gears while im riding it makes the chain come off track so i must be doing something wrong. any information would be great.

Thank you

If the chain is coming off, it's mis-adjusted!
Either take it back and have the bike shop adjust it or-

Read those articles posted by Bill; as long as you're moderately bike-savvy, you should easily be able to adjust your derailleurs to stop them from pushing your chain off the sprockets. If you can give any more info as to how the chain is coming off (chainrings or cogset?, low or high end of the gears?), then we'll be able to help you more easily.

If you just bought it; I'd be headed right back for an tune up or adjustment.
