Finnaly built up my "all mountain" bike. Its a 99 FSR. I sold my 97 fsr to buy a bighit. I love the bighit, but too heavy for the big hills, too much travel for the smoother trails. I built up the FSR, here is the spec. Most parts are new, some off ebay.
Frame-99 Specialized FSR Pro (4 1/2in travel)
Fork- 03 Marzochhi MXcomp ETA (105mm travel)
Crank/BB- Shimano LX hollowtech
Pedals- shimano 636 (stripped off the red paint, look sweet in silver)
Shifters- XT
Rear del- XT
Front Del- XTR
Wheels- Sun disc rims, deore disc hubs
Cassete- XT
Brakes- Avid discs
Brake levers- XT
Tires - Specialized enduro 2.2
Bars - azonic
stem- supergo (weyless)
seat post- thompson
saddle- Specialized telluride
tell me what ya think!!!!

I love that frame. I had a '98 FSR Extreme, and always wanted the frame with the fully extruded tubeset. That's a pretty sweet rig.
So, if you don't mind my asking, what did you invest for her?

Im not sure, about $1000-$1200. Paid $450 for the frame(its a 99, but its brand new, warranty return) $200 for the fork off ebay. Wheels were $89 from supergo. Every thing else was here and there purchaces.

Well... seems you got a kickass bike for that sorta mula....its making me jealous, ive been busy with GCSE's over here so i havent been riding in about 2 weeks, ive been working weekends so i cant go then either :(
Well thats the best way, a break from the bike can renew the coolness of the whole procedure, i went out on the Bianchi there on sunday for the first time in 2 months, by god i enjoyed it!
Working weekends if good, means you can buy new parts and enjoy them even more, as it seems you deserve them more. Good luck in the GCSE's mate, thank god those are long behind me!
