Utility Cycling - Xtracycle - readjust the Freeradical

I looked at the tongue on my FR and doesnt' look centered. I probably will loosed the whole thing and readjust.

Has anybody had to do this? I don' t use a torque wrench but I know the bolts were tight.

I have had to adjust the freeradical on my cruiser a couple of times. Once because I dropped the bike, hey it weighs 65 pounds!, and once a little while after I built it after everything settled in. I just cranked the bolts tight, but not too tight, I dented the chainstays when I was too enthusiastic :eek:.

My front part isn't centered either, but my impression is that the rear dropouts mainly keep the rig centered (unless your dropouts are bent). From the rear, everything *looks* straight, and I don't have any brake problems, at least none that I'm aware of. I say leave it, but you know your set-up best.

On my last frame, the freeradical's tongue and FAP didn't sit as well as they could have between the tubing and I ended up tightening it twice over the span of 2 months, about once a month :)

On the Rocky Mountain Fusion the FAP cuddles in between the two chainstays and the bridge *very* securely. I've not needed any readjusting, even after having the bike blow over and slam into the ground during the latest windstorm.

Seems to be related to how securely that plate sits to me - varying from bike to bike.
