I did a search and didn't come up with anything regarding this... But, for those of you who have dropped some weight, have you noticed that in addition to getting a slimmer waist, you need to go up in your inseam?

I haven't dropped as much weight as I need (yet), but things are beginning to redistribute. I've tightened my belt 3-4 holes, and my pants seem to be starting to look like high-waters. It makes sense to me, that as gravity has less mass to pull down, then things might start to lift.

Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon, or am I a freak of nature (or just hallucinating)?

People who are overweight have a tendency to wear their pants low, with the belt line under their pot bellies. The alternative would be to buy pants with even bigger waists so that they would fit around the pot. As they get thinner, they'll wear the pants in a more "natural" position...higher up, around the real waist.

Exactly my case.

Yep, I used to wear 30-32 inch inseam pants, and now 32-34 inch inseam, depending on the brand. It happens to women too. I think it is more how they make the leg and butt regions of the pants, than how high or low you wear them.

there are some people, that no matter how fat or thin they are, that refuse to wear their pants at their waist. Its pretty much an exercise in "how low can i wear my pants, before it's indecent exposure"

I think this happend to me but for different reasons... i wasn't out of shape, 6'4, 215 and muscular, but as I started riding more and more, commuting, double centuries, etc. my, um @ssets got a little rounder (which is a good thing- no complaints)... but i believe this made some of my dockers appear shorter by raising up just a bit more in the back.... maybe the same reason for you?

No, it's real for some people. It's probably a combination of starting to wear your trousers at your waist instead of on your hips, and wearing them higher in the back because your butt is smaller. Also, it's possible your posture has improved - fat guys sometimes slouch a lot.

In my case, I've gone from a 30 inseam to a 31 or 32. (I've also gone from a 60 inch waist to a 46, but that's another story.)
