...even the studliest dude ends up looking like the biggest pansy .. i mean how much aerodynamics do you need unless you're actually racing?

i don't mean to insult everyone on here because i've draped myself in that same effeminate spandex .. but everytime it went on it felt like a ton of kryptonite that takes away my ability to leap tall building and drop octagenearians...... i mean you can just feel your huevos rancheros shrinking into a couple of peas in a pod.

of course it could just be me and my spare tire :D that feel so insecure...

anybody else think that cycling uniz for men need an overhaul?

It may just be you - I find that lycra shorts enhance my studliness. You can always try packing a sock in there, I guess.

Dude, your post shows that you know shít about the culture of this sport. Why did you start this thread? If you want to advertise your "tremendos huevos rancheros", then you are on the wrong forum. If you are ... ahhyyyyy sooo insecure, and you are not sure if you are gay or not, then you are!

easy there Fabio .. you missed the whole point of the thread as I think did everyone else.

If you go back and carefully read you'll see that my whole disappointment with the painted on uniform is that my spare tire (that means belly) doesn't allow me to look good in one. i'm actually making fun of myself.......

Of course it's not funny if I have to explain the joke......Moderator feel free to delete this thread.....I'll try it again tomorrow

Wearing spandex makes me feel more of a man. I usually wear baggy cycling shorts though as not to embarass all the other d00ds around me. ;) Except when it's race day. Then i need advantage i can get...

Huh Jack, and you call yourself "insecure". You are like that guy - his wife calls him and tells him "Honey, are you on your way home?" The guy goes "Yeaah". She says "Please be careful – they are showing on TV a car on the highway going in the wrong direction". The guy goes - "Hell, on this highway all of them are going in the wrong direction".

were you riding today? I was chugging up to the observatory when I saw some one who could've been you coming down (Valley side). Since I haven't met you, I didn't yell, and I didn't see if it was your blue Trek.

My masculinity is not threatened at all by spandex or lycra.

It's the drinking water I worry about...

So whatd'ya all think? There's this lady around here (that has a sex appeal rating of *eww, shudder*) who essentially breaks dress code (i work in a hospital) by wearing a short sleeveless dress (just above the knees), no stockings, and open toe heels... Should i try to even things out by wearing my cycling shorts and form fitting baselayer around the office? My legs would be shaven of course and my MTB cycling shoes would be worn since they sound like high heels when i walk down the hall. I could also enhance myself by stuffing.

^^^ Just ask that woman what the squiggly lines on her thighs are and maybe she'll put the short-short skirts away. Make sure you look really innocent when you ask and compliment something else on her just prior to asking. Like, "Wow, hair has got it going on today, sister, but I've been meaning to ask you if you have ever considered getting those varicose veins removed from your thighs? There are excellent treatments for that now..." Like that.

Let a little of the...um...Scotsman hang just a quarter of an inch below the kilt then and if she point is out say, "well now you know how we all feel about you hanging it out all over the place."
