Northern California - SSSSHHH!!! Don't Tell RON! secret bDay Ride

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This ride is on hold, I Apologize. I talked it over with others and we've decided it would be more appropriate another time. We were hoping maybe to get BikeForum members to join up at Canada/92 for a ride on Saturday to Foothill College to be at the Memorial ride for our fellow cyclists that were killed last weekend. The memorial starts at 2:30pm. I was wondering if someone could extrapolate and figure out the time logistics from Canada/92 following the route that Matt and Kristy took then to Foothill college...Marco, Ron? anyone? That would be our starting time to post. So Sunday's Ride will not happen.

Yup, rumors are true. Due to popular demand, we're going to repeat the recently ridden Bucolic Backroads Coastal Tour, but rebadged as Ron's B'day Parade (version 2). Here's the PR blurb:
We'll zip down Hwy1 until Gazos Creek (25miles). Then we head inland along beautiful Cloverdale Rd. After about 10 miles, I think a lunch stop at Pescadero would be lovely. Choice of top notch bakery, deli, and Duarte's wonderful sandwiches (not to mention the romantic sounds of mating racoons). Then we head up Haskins Hill, down Hwy84 to San Gregorio. Stop at the General Store for a potty break, maybe listen to some music. Then climb up 1/4 of the way up Tunitas Creek until Lobitos Creek. That's one of my favorite roads here - farm country, nice views, no cars. It'll be 70 miles and 4200 ft. There can be easier and harder alternates for those who want something different. Here's the bikely link: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Bucolic-Backroads-Tour
We'll meet at 9am Sunday, March 16th at the Half Moon Bay fire station, corner of Main St. and Higgins Canyon Rd.

If there's interest, I'll invite folks over to my place for pasta and beers ! Not to mention cake and ice-cream!
Sign up early!!!

Wow, this is really top secret. Seems to be a message that is encoded with cryptic code. Must be some FBI or CIA project.
BTW, who's Ron?

Please count me in as a motivated maybe.
Right now seems like Sunday will be a nice day (mostly sunny, high 58F), but there's a 20% chance of rain.

Actually time to sandbag.
My knee has been bothering me since Sunday (combo of Ron's 1st ride plus something I did at the park, I think).
Hopefully I'll shake it by Saturday.

OK, there's finally a Sunday ride planned, on a weekend I don't have the kids or soccer - and I'm already committed to something else!!!!
How many birthdays is Ron having this year? Maybe I'll make one of those rides.

I am sorry to hear the ride is canceled.
I think I still plan on doing it.
Thing is my girlfriend and I were planning on doing the ride, and we don't get to ride together that much due to schedule conflicts.
So, I don't see a better way of remembering our fallen cyclists, than going out there and doing an amazing ride with your friends and/or loved ones.
However I do understand your decision, and agree these are sad times. But, I still may go out there and do this ride. If anyone wants to join us, you are more than welcome to :)
I am not sure at this moment. I will figure it out by the weekend.
