I've got a Surly Karate Monkey with 29" tires, and I'm wondering if anybody knows a make of fenders that would fit it especially well. When I went to my LBS, it looked like everything they had for 700c tires was too narrow, and everything for 26"ers too small. I'm going to be using the bike for commuting in the snow this winter.

SKS chromoplastic are the best. They make versions for wide 45mm hybrid tyres.

Just wondering which tire/rim combo you are using and if you are using the rigid 4130 fork or a 29er suspension fork? Have any overall feedback to share on this ride? Thanks for your input.

Salsa Delgado rims, some 700x43 (about 1.7") tires, rigid fork, moustache bars, fixed/singlespeed flip-flop hub with 42x(18 free/17 fixed) gearing, chunky bear trap pedals for my giant feet. I haven't ridden 26 inchers enough to compare, just a bunch of old road bikes which were mostly converted to fixes or singlespeeds. It's very big and rides like it, carrying a great deal of momentum and just rolling smoothly right over whatever gets in the way. I can make it jump a little bit, but I'm still learning. Also, I can swap good 700x28 tires on it for urban riding after the snow leaves.

Also, the ugly stickers scratch off quite easily.
