A quote from another thread said:
Monsters Inc. (don't laugh... it's a good movie)

That reminds me - I heard a movie reviewer on the radio give an insight that really had me thinking.

He claimed that Monsters Inc and Matrix are the same basic plot lines. At first I said "Monsters Inc and Matrix the same????? Naaa!

Then he got me thinking: Alien life forms generate power from unsuspecting humans who are not awake. WOW!

There was more but I forget the others. Anyone else know of any?

How about other movies that don't look similar but are?

Sounds like someone took a trip to visit Uncle Sid.

I heard that, too. It was Bob Mondello on NPR. You can listen to it online here (http://www.npr.org/features/feature.php?wfId=1297967).

That has got to be one of the funniest things I have heard in a while. I think someone was hitting the water bong a little too hard while watching Monsters Inc.

I believe an English Professor once said in a Lit class that there are only seven basic plot lines. Assuming this is true, there are many many movies the same. Actually, Holllywood has remade the same movie several times by changing locales and actors. TV has done it for years.

Remember Bob and Doug McKenzie's "Strang Brew"?

Watch it and think Shakespear's Hamlet.
