Southern California - Wildflower Mountain Bike Ride - Limestone

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just wanted to give everyone a head's up - because of the awesome bloom period going on right now, the Irvine Ranch Conservancy has added some wildflower hikes and a MTB ride to their March schedule. The MTB ride is scheduled for March 22 and the leader is John Ganahl. Because the Canyon is closed right now due to raptor nesting, the ride will go along the ridges. This means you need to be a strong adv. beginner/intermediate, advanced rider. Check the irlrtrust.org website, under activities for more information.

Here are some photos I took Sunday along Limestone Ridge:

If you are interested book early. This is a popular ride!

Yep me too. Has anyone been out to the Santa Rosa Plateau or through Temecula? The flowers should be beautiful out there right now.

D'oh! Pam, I associate you with P&R and forget that you live down here too...:p

Lovely flowers though, and I wish I had a rideable mtb to go on this ride.

Yes I actually ride a bike occasionally as well! Not certain where you live but I undersatnd the flowers are out in most of the park areas like the Santa Monicas, Chino Hills etc. Get out and hike. It's worth it!
