Hi all!

I'm prepping to start training for my first sprint tri in July. Problem is with my trainer...I bought it used (Ebay) and got a great deal, but have no idea how to mount my bike onto it! It's a Cycleops Fluid 2,. The manufacturer website has really lame instruction manual, but without knowing what it's supposed to even look like mounted, I'm having a heck of a time figuring it out.

It didn't come with a skewer...is that something I need for the trainer to work? Does anyone have pictures (close-up) of what a properly mounted bike looks like?

I'd be happy to take pictures of my trainer and bike (separately, of course!) if it would help anyone with telling me how get my bike mounted. I'm dying to use it, but completely frustrated with trying everything to no avail!!

Any help is appreciated...THANKS!

Yes you generally want a specific skewer. One that looks like this:

Basically it has something for the trainer to grip on both sides. I tried with my stock skewers but it just slips out since the lever side is smooth.

Once you have that basically what I do is hold my bike so that the skewer end is seated in the "cup" of the fixed side of the trainer. Then with my other hand I tighten the other side of the trainer until it locks over the skewer. Then snug it down.

Last, you may need to adjust the roller so that it contacts the tire. You want it snug (so the wheel doesn't slip) but not jammed in so tight you deform the tire a ton.

The skewer is a standard steel skewer that your LBS should have hanging on the shelf.
My LBS had them for $9
