Hi ,
I have an old Raleigh Super Gran Prix. Bought it an a garage sale eariler this summer. It has aluminum SunTour rims and 27/1 in tires.

Is that combo likely original stuff? The bike is kind of gold color with silver colored fork ends. Does anyone know about what year it was made?

I did modify the bike a bit. Put on some high rise type handelbars, and a big wide seat.

I just love the old bike and sort of enjoy the looks and questions I get.

I'm 63 years old and just getting back into bikeing. I'm having a blast.
and sheding a few pounds.

SOREBUT NIck Name and condition!

To find it's age, you'll find serial number charges on our site. On our Vintage Lightweight Discussion Area, you'll find some Grand Prix experts.

I'm a contemporary (also 63), the soreness will go away & as you keep riding, the weight loss will stop as you replace fat with muscle. The blast never stops!
As you get more knowledgable, you will find lots of bargains out there (large numbers of really great bikes are sitting around in basements & garages), check the thrift stores & yard sales. Don
