Thanks for sharing.
You guys clearly had the superior equipment.
The tandem 509 and 510 were riding clearly wasn't designed to race. But it's all about the motors anyway.

You can also tell the change(s) in tandem design in the past 25-30 yrs, too, in those pics; you hardly see stokers run up the captains' backs like 509/510 does, anymore, unless they're purpose built race rigs.
Team 519/520 is the team we dueled with throughout 2/3 of the TT.

They are riding an Otis Guy tandem and the captain is Otis Guy. They were great competitors and a Cat 4/ Cat 2 team versus our Cat 4/ Cat 5. They beat us by a minute but it was fun competing against them.

Typical Otis Guy . . . Allsop beam for stoker.

It looks like a very large chain ring on the 520/519.

Nice to see the Webcor team (515/516 I think) running OOP. However, the stoker leading is not very common.

That is us - Hermes and Velodiva. I guess we are just uncommon. We have tried various combinations and permutations and OOP, stoker leading just works for us. We feel seamless, strong and stable in that configuration.
