The Georgia Rides to the Capitol event had perfect weather, a good turnout and plenty of dignitaries on hand to see about 1500 riders who rode to the steps of the state Capitol to show support for making bicycling as transportation safer and more accepted. So many Atlanta area Mayors and other local and state officials participated as riders in this event that it makes me think we need to start getting some of our local officials involved in our high profile events in my town, Milledgeville.

With the price of gas, shouldn't really be that hard convincing people to participate in something like that...Time for every other state and major city to do the same?
