Road Cycling - Going to Las Vegas, any good bike routes?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Can anyone help me with bike routes in Vegas, wife has convention there and I have 2 days to myself. I don't gamble. Any suggestions appreciated.

I tried a tour of the Red Rock Canyob Scenic Loop in February. Very spectacular scenery. Here's the link:

How far do you want to ride?
The Las Vegas Century takes you from downtown upto Red Rock, out to Boulder city, down by Lake Mead and back to town. 109 miles.
Boulder City is a nice quaint town with some history.
I just checked and the map has been removed from the RMHLV.com website. Let me know how far you want to ride and I'll give you directions.
The Red Rock loop is 16 miles long, and you can get to it by following Charleston Blvd West about 22 miles from the las vegas strip. Look for the vistors center out in the desert on the right. It's one way, you can't get lost.
You can also ride as far around Lake Mead as you wish.
I have 2 days to kill. I would like to go about 60 miles each day if somewhat flat or 50 if hilly. But please give me the directions for the century also just in case I feel strong. Also can you ride across the dam? That would be something to tell the kids about when I get home.
Thanks
Drop Vegascyclist an email when you can- I'm sure he could help you figure out where to go...

Riding across the dam would be interesting. You'd only go 5 miles an hour with the traffic going through there.
