I bought this old 3 speed on the weekend. It is as found with lots of dirt still. The headbadge is still there but has nothing on it. I thought it might be a Hercules. The rear hub is a Hercules Type 3 but the shifter is a Sturmey 3/4 speed. Wheels are 26 x 1 3/8. Most parts are not your regular Raleigh items. The lugs are also not Raleigh style. That is the same lug that is used on my wife's Hercules Skyliner that was rescued from the NH dump last year.

Other than that? BTW hers has the Hercules spelled out in the chain ring. I wonder if might have been a lesser brand in the Herc line up?

Well, you don't have a Norman crankset, but....

The color is the same as my early 50's Norman, and both the fork crown and fenders look similar. My Norman has similar lugs, but where your lugs have elliptical holes cut in them, mine are triangular. Stem and headset are the same. Chainguard mount appears to be the same.

Take a look at the thread I started a little while back, "Salvaged 1950's Norman" or something like that, see what you think!

And, how 'bout some more pictures, such as the head badge, seat lug, BB with oiler....
