The snow is finally starting to melt, and I'm looking for a new bike.
My brother has recently gotten into mountain biking, and I'm looking for something so I can keep up. Currently I have a terrible Raleigh "mountain" bike. I say this because every time I ride it on an actual mountain trail the whole bike feels like its going to break. The i'm looking to do is All mountain/rough XC/ and maybe some freeride.
I want a bike that can take some reasonably high drops (no more than 5') and will glide over some rough spots on the trail. We ride XC alot, so I need something that can climb well, and also take a beating going of jumps and drops.
hardtail/full suspension, around 1000$ not being too picky about price, but don't want to by something that I will have to spend another 500$ on in upgrades. I want some docent components to start with, and upgrade from there (I am only just beginning into mountain biking so I need something functional, and good quality that will last, but nothings that is 5000$)
Im also willing to upgrade some parts if neccesary, but really just want to buy a bike thats ready to ride other than setting it up for my taste.
Thanks
