Is it getting too late in the year to enjoy a ride up to beech mtn? I'm thinking within the next week or so of running up there. If so what will I need aside from arm and leg warmers? thanks.

Beech Mt., North Carolina?

It is the most wonderful time of the year to ride in that area of NC in my opinion. It can be very cool in the mornings and evenings but overall you have cool dry weather and beautiful scenery. But... it is also leaf looking season and the traffic can be horrible. Too many RV's and cars pulling campers traveling the roads. It's best to stay on county maintained roads and even then there can be way too much traffic.

I agree that it is a very nice time of the year to head up there for some riding. cool in the mornings, and warm up by afternoon.. Good for riding.

Now is fine. Most of the leaves will be gone, so you'll be spared that traffic. You might take along some thin, full-fingered gloves, too.

Where were you starting from? For *about* a 25 mile round trip, you can park at Valle Crucis Elementary school and ride 194 up to Banner Elk, and on up Beech from there. Return the same way.

hey I went today. It was completely awesome! I went w/ some friends to Lees Mcrae college and parked there, and rode up. It was tough, and great at the same time. I only have a double crankset so the grade was funnn. :) phewww ride down was fasttt.

I e-mailed you.

I noted you are from the Charlotte area. I'm in Mooresville.

How does the Sunday after Thanksgiving work for you?
