Evans has the ****tiest stage win celebration ever....like he's never done one before and couldn't figure out what to do with his hands.

If you live directly on the east coast you might have a chance to capture the Astra signal and get all the european channels. Everyone else in the US is hosed.

I have the embeded feed player bookmarked. At the time the Cycling.TV crapped out, Eurosport was broadcasting Badminton on the feed.

Badminton? People watch that on TV?

We get something called British Eurosport here in the UK. Before the Paris-Nice they were showing a Biathlon. After P-N they showed the Tirreno-Adriatico. Maybe the badminton was on another of the Eurosport channels...

Im sorry it was Biathalon. Not Badminton. D'oh. Now that i think about it I was a little disapointed that i had to leave the office. I like the idea of skiing and shooting guns.

I love the hate on a podium finisher of the TdF and the guy that just won the stage today at Paris-Nice. The feed showed him talking in to race radio a few seconds after Popo "popped." My guess is the question went something like this:

"So.. since Gesink has to race for time, anyone mind if I take the free ride for a stage win?"

If any of us did it, we'd be called smart. Cadel does it, and he sucks? Was there a better tactic for him to play?

I couldn't get the feed from Cycling.TV yesterday, either. What pisses me off is that it only seems to fail on important races. Last year, I signed up for the Giro and everything went fine until the Zoncolan stage and I had the same problems as yesterday.

They charge money and then can't deliver.

Nope. Not his fault his team 'leader' cracked. Pro cycling is a team sport. There are no more Hinaults. If Cadel hadnt gone for it, he'd would have gotten a much worst lambasting for not taking the win, seeing as Silence/Lotto has 2 men in a the break at the end.

Remember when they said a few years back that Popovich would be the next greatest thing since Lance. That's not working out too good is it?

I dont get why so many people think there is or should be chivalry in pro cycling (or amature cycling for that matter). It's a brutal chessgame and winning is the only thing that counts. Thats what the sponsors are paying for.

Since I'm kind-of new to cycling, you'll excuse my ignorance... Why don't we like Cadel? As an Australian living in the US, I've supported him because he's Ozzie. Educate me.

I disagree. Popovich is one of the strongest climbing domestique's in the business.

He dropped because he likely worked his ass of for Cadel. Pulling for him, going back for water for him, etc.

I cant tell if your being sarcastic or not. :p

Popo wasnt supposed to be a super domestique. He was touted as a future grand tour winner. It may still happen, but the hype from a couple years ago seems to be just that.

True, but Lotto replaced Horner for Popo, and Horner is a SD.

Still is, but he's hovering at retirement age. Popo is still a youngster. He may yet come into his own. After Evans, he's their next best GC man.

Bumping this back from '08. I'm considering going in for the Premium cycling.tv subscription. How's it been working recently? Any rants/raves?

Is VS going to do more than a 10 minute clip of each days race sandwiched between an intro, commercials and the podium presentation?

Yeah, it looks like they will be showing the race live at 6PM on the east coast.

I don't own a television. It's not a problem for "normal" mainstream sports, but I've had terrible luck streaming cycling for free.

Check out the tour de france forum. There is a website, I can't think of it now, but it should have links to places that stream most races. I followed the Tour from work last year with it.
