I am planning on 4 organized rides, a brevet or two, and plenty of group rides.
I need one more organized ride since I missed my registration for the buena vista century in colorado springs.
I have:
1) TBP
2) Copper triangle
3) Elephant rock
The santa fe century would be nice but I dislike driving that far.
There is the stonewall century but the drive is a wee bit far. It is at least in the same state.
Are there any local smaller century rides in the mountains within a couple hours of Denver?

I'll be doing the TPB, Elephant Rock and Buena Vista as well.
There's the Sunrise and Buffalo Centuries in Boulder

There was also one in Steamboat mentioned here a week or two ago.
Ah. The steamboat one was what I was trying to remember.
Apparently, I will need two rides. The copper triangle is on the bikejournal reunion weekend. I would rather ride with that group instead. Can't be two places at once. :p
One of these days I'm going to go do an event in Colorado, just for something different. You guys have quite a scene.

What's the matter? You don't think the BikeJournal rides are going to be organized enough???
It's gonna be a BLAST! :)
With aid stations? :p
Of course bj rides are fun. I'm forgoing the copper triangle for the BJ Reunion weekend. My priorities are set correctly! I swear. :p
Organized rides are amusing in their own right. Just looking for a couple small ones. No biggie if I do not find any. Plenty of riding options this year.

Of -COURSE- we have aid stations... just because they're staffed by someone else's employees and you have to pay for food and drinks doesn't mean they're not aid stations (Ok... so other people call them convenience stores... Everybody had different words for things, right? :p )
OoOO
Pikes peak century and red canyon century
I'm going to wing the remaining two. Maybe I will enjoy brevets enough to make me give up on them.
On a side note, I get my dinotte taillight today. So, if we have any night rides I can take the rear of the group. Or ride up front and blind everyone. :p
Here is the link again for the "Tour de Steamboat".

Let me know if you decide to ride it!

Pikes peak century and red canyon century
Have you done either of those? Recommend? I found the home page for red canyon but not the other one. Do you have a link for Pikes Peak?
My one and only organized ride was elephant rock last year.
Pikes peak is actually the pikes peak classic.

Joe Lookingbill Denver to Aspen Classic (http://www.rmccrides.com/denveraspen.html)
I've always found this ride to be about the same level of exertion as the Triple Bypass - just longer time in the saddle. It's wicked cheap - 25 bones for RMCC membership - that's it. There'll be maybe 30 people that'll ride this. It's an awesome ride - and a burger at the Woody Creek Tavern to celebrate is perfecto-issimo
...if that's not a good fit then...
Check out the other RMCC brevets and populaires (http://www.rmccrides.com/brevet2008schedule-overview.htm) to find one that better fits your mo'. :)
