They're in Australia I believe. Pretty new company. The owner posts on the MTBR.com single speed board sometimes. That's about all I know.

I know the owner and the stuff is solid. He is a very nice feller and knows the industry well. Nice frames (I am trying to get $$$ for a custom track job).

The logo in the upper left corner is definitely from Thundercats.

custom...Grizz (the owner) is somewhat behind the times...I tell him he needs one, but I guess the demand is not enough to justify one. To me, that is crap!

Greetings mah people!
'Tis I - the Grizzly Thylacine man guy type person...err.....the guy who runs the ship. 165-48:17 or 'The Missing Link' as we prefer to call him asked me to pop in and shout some obscenities from the pulpit, so here I am.
That nice smokey blue frame is the Thylacine 221. I actually have one left that's in desperate need of a new home. Email me if you're in the market - it's a 'Medium-Large' 18.3 ctr to top, 71/72, with 17" stays and a 23.5" top tube. Ex-Demo.
Yup, I do custom jobbies mostly. There may not be a fixie on the website but that doesnt mean I can't do ya one. On the contrary - I'd love to do a fixie or track frame....just as long as its not black or white. Okay, maybe pearl white, but that's as far as I go.
Anyway, this website looks massive, so looks like I might just have to add it to the list of 'Websites to hang around in and cause trouble'.
That is quite a nice looking frame. Unfortunately the only thing I can afford is 20 year old Raleighs to convert into fixies. By the way isn't a Thylacine the Tasmanian tiger that is thought to be extinct?

ding ding ding!
That is correct!
How about a black and white striped frame? :)
I notice you do list you will do the frames with Sub-11 dropouts for track use at no extra cost. What are sub-11 dropouts?

Man I like this forum! I was just waiting for *puts on Southern Drawl* "Thylacine.....isn't that like some sort of drug?"

Sub 11 dropouts are pretty much what everyone uses when it comes to doing horizontal dropouts. You can see them on the blue 221 at http://www.thylacinecycles.com/gallery
In the frames section I do believe.
I thought samething about thylacine when I first saw the name, but found some info on it.

What is a Thylacine?
The Thylacine (Thylacinus cynocephalus, dog-headed pouched-dog) is a large carnivorous marsupial now believed to be extinct. It is the single member of the family Thylacinidae. It is also known as the Tasmanian Tiger or Tasmanian Wolf.

You're more likely to hear that in the BMX forum. I'm probably going to catch hell for this but...I've been in there a few times and can honestly say that reading some of those posts is analagous to voluntarily running a cheese grater across your brain. :D

"OMG!! I NEED 2 NO WUT FRAME 2 GET QUIK SO I CAN RIDE FRESSTYLE!!
DOZ NE 1 NO WHICH 1 IS BETTER: SPECIALIZED FATBOY OR HARO BACKTRAIL!?!?"
yeah...about 3 posts like that per week. and they're always about the same two or three bikes.

MKRG, you'd be very, very suprised. What separates a BMX grom and a Freeride grom is......well, nothing actually. Maybe 7" of travel? I dunno, but I swear it was like telling people to get their head out of the medicine cabinet and into the encyclopaedia.
Stay in school mah people!
Yeah, Sub11 dropouts are Surly...or Surly are Sub11. Sub11 came way before Surly ever existed, so that's why I call them Sub11, even though its hard to get them labelled as such these days. Unfortunately they're almost allways labeled 'Surly' these days.
Nothing some molten brass won't fix eh? ;)

Get your Fix here, coz you know we only 'pedal' the good schtuff.
( A little teaser for you, 165-48:17  )
:D
In the future I'll be looking at getting single speed in the future, what is the shipping costs of sending a frame to the US.

It all depends on your freight carriers, but I only charge my Canadian and US customers US$38 for freight. I bite most of the cost basically coz I'm helluva nice guy and pretty much like selling into the US and Canada. Okay, so it's more complicted than that, but at 38 buckaroos, who's to argue, aye?

man that looks pretty... but it would look even prettier if it didn't have those cable routing braze-ons. just my not-so-humble opinion. :D
That's not bad at all, I figured would easily be twice that cost. And I always need another bike :) haha

Actually, I had an idea for that. For anyone that isnt sure if they want to go singlespeed or fixed, what I can do is braze on some bidon mounts underneath the top tube, into which you can screw some swanky little custom cable guides. So if you want to run brakes, just screw in two or maybe 3 groovy little guides and mount your brakes. Want that clean Fixed look? Take them off and everyone will be none the wiser.
Cool huh! :D

glad it says 'concept' on the pic, Grizz. Sloped top tubes are bunk.

Whats 5 degrees between friends? :p
Anyway, you know me, I'll build it however you want it. Unless it's ugly or stupid, of course.
What do you think about the removable brake housing guides idea? Flexibility being next to godliness and all, especially when you're ponying up for something custom.
Only thing I could see bad with the screw on cable guides is would it look like you had holes in your frame when they were not screwed in?

Not at all. The 'holes' would be bidon ( waterbottle ) bosses, and they'd be on the underside of the top tube so they'd be very stealth. With or without the guides screwed in it would be very clean.
Anyway, the idea's out there for anyone that wants it as a no cost option to their next Fixie.
That makes sense, wonder if you could use them as pegs to hold up a frame pump then also..

Say wah?
:D
I like the black and white stripping along the top, out of curiousity have you ever done a whole frame that way? I wonder if would sort of camoflouge like a zebra going down the road..
Marsupial zebras? I'm glad I have beer tonight.

Only if there's a picture.
What about "old school" campy style cable guides, no braze ons needed?

David Caradine wears a Q ray bracelette.. I'll not look to him for sage advice.
:D
Hey, in that concept, will the bottom brackette be higher than a track frame.. The idea bieng that you could get a decent sized crank on it?
Thylacine

All Thylacine frames are custom, so anything reasonable flies. In my opinion a typical road fixie would probably have a road style BB height so you could run 170/175mm cranks, clearance for 30c tires etc. Coming off an actual track bike that you're riding on road, the difference would be pretty huge.

Well, you've just eclipsed my basic understanding of geometry. I was under the impression that you had some "pre done" frames, and that this was a concept due for "mass" production some time soon.
