Im a fan of Fizik's own Microtex tape, but I just stumbled upon this pic of a Gios Torino, and I have not seen this handlebar tape before. Is this cork handlebar tape? I am also very intrigued by the tricolor tape used to finish of the ends of the white tape. Can anybody ID the brand of the handlebar tape?
Edit : just found out another pic

Ambrosio Bike Ribbon, if that end-wrap tape is correct for the wrap itself (appears to be). NOS Ambrosio shows up from time-to-time on eBay...wonder if it's the same Co.as made the rims?
Yes, Ambrosio Bike Ribbon. It is synthetic, a vinyl covered foam that was very popular until the cork tapes started taking over. I love it and I believe if you google it that the product is still available in the line up. Marinoni is the distributor in Canada.

Probikekit.com...... Still available, and white was in stock when I made my last order. Took several months to get back in stock though. The price is unbelievable and free shipping to boot. I'm putting it on everything I build up now. Feel is wonderful. Tacky yet not sticky, and just enough padding. The finishing tape I don't know about, it didn't come with the stuff I ordered?,,,,BD
This is Ambrosio "handlebar ribbon".....

Yup. Good looking/feeling stuff, and C H E A P. None that I've ordered ever came with anything but black finishing tape, and never with bar end plugs.
Here it is, in blue (I used electrical tape to finish the wrap):

Here's some of that Ambrosio ribbon sold under the La Spirale name and "Guaranted By Ambrosio". It looks rather obnoxious. Must be 1980's vintage. I haven't looked at it under a blacklight yet.......

Ouch, that hurts to look at, lol. I haven't tried dyeing the Ambrosio yet, but I may try it. I used SEM on black cork to make a dark brown, and the effect is great. Might be too slippery on vinyl wrap though. Hmmm.,,,,BD
At a lot of auto parts stores, they carry multi packs of electrical tape in different colors. I used yellow, then red, then black on the Trek. Matches the seat tube wrap just close enough.
Hate to bump this thread, but does anyone have experience with this tape and wet conditions? Does it get slick or stay comfortable?
