Classic & Vintage - Help me find a clamp bolt for a Cinelli 1R stem

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

So to make a long story short, the head of the bold that secures the hidden clamp mechanism on this stem is stripped and I can't find a replacement. Apparently its a non-standard size, like an M7 with .75 (fine or extra fine) pitch. Does anyone have any clue where I might be able to track down a replacement bolt? Preferable stainless? I love the way the stem looks, and I would hate to have to ditch it just because the bolt head is stripped...
Thanks in advance,
-Steve

Plus they are alloy. Since the wedges are notorious for breaking or getting lost you might have some luck asking on the classic rendezvous list if anyone has a spare (as I am sure lots of those guys have boxes full of cinelli partial stems). Try also contacting the bike stand as I believe they may have the wedges as a replacement part, they might have the whole assembly. I sent them an email recently to see if they have any wedges as I am one away from having a complete 1R stem, but no reply I suspect it may have been bounced also. I'll have to phone one of these days.

I concur, had I not trashed the 2 that I had (both lost the wedges) I'd send one to you. Not to torment you, but call alot of your local bike shops and ask if they have old stem-bins/buckets. I bet you can turn one up in an afternoon for free
