Southern California - Orthopedist in LA area? Preferably Westside/SF Valley?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anyone know a decent Orthopedist who has experience with cyclists? I've got a friend (really, it's not me) who wrecked her knee and now not only gets serious pain when she rides but it's now starting to hurt off the bike.
SF Valley or Westside LA is preferred, but if you know a good one, I'll take the info.
Thanks!

Burbank - Dr. William Stetson or his partner Dr. Powell. Neither are cyclists but it doesn't matter, a knee is a knee. Trust me, I sell knees every day. Stetson was an All American volleyball player at USC and an Olympian so he specializes in Sports Medicine and sports injuries only. He received his medical degree from USC. I'd let him operate on me; there is only a handful of surgeons I can say that about.
Westside LA - Dr. Daniel Kharrazi at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic. Harvard educated and well respected surgeon at KJOC even though he isn't even 40 years old yet. Another guy I would let operate on me.
PM me if you need more details.

i drug unsuspecting people then cut their knees off in a sleazy hotel room bathtub in koreatown and sell them on the black market. they wake up about a foot shorter.
seriously, i sell partial and total knee reconstruction implants....the surgeons use my implants in surgery for those people who suffer from arthritis due to loss of cartilage. i used to sell sports medicine reconstruction procedural products like what is used to repair rotator cuff tears, etc. i know who all the stud sports med surgeons are and who i wouldn't let operate on a stray dog.
Kerlan-Jobe has been around for ages and definitely respected in the sports med arena since their clinic was in Inglewood near Danial Freeman and the Forum. In the SFV area there is the Sports Medicine Clinic in North Hollywood near Valley Pres. Hosp. Bob Fox used to be their premier knee specialist, and very good. Don't know who all is there thses days, but as GF says, a knee is a knee. However, as joints go, the knee is one of the more complex and least stable. A good orthopod is worth findig for a knee condition.

There are 2 things I would trust Lee on, and that's one of them.

Actually, the shoulder is more complex and the least stable.
Southern California Orthopaedic Institute (SCOI) in Van Nuys (El Barrio Mas Macho) - Dr. Getelman.
Santa Monica Orthopaedic Group (SMOG) - Dr. Mandelbaum
I would start with Stetson or Kharrazi as stated above.

Howard Marans, but I think he's more south bay or OC. He fixes a lot of cyclists and is a sponsor of the Momentum Cycling team.
