I remember these as a kid and always wanting one. This looks like a good idea and I hope they continue to improve he product by inceasing the size of the rear wheel. I wonder if it folds? Looks like a lot of fun. Too bad they only come in kids size.

If I was younger, I would be all over that.

I've recently been tooling around on one of these weird things (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yab_UA0ERZY&feature=related). It's not the same thing but you do kick-n-go to move, it has one big bike wheel and it's sized for an adult if you're crazy enough to try it. It's kind of like a cross between a skateboard and a unicycle with a training wheel and no seat.

Dude,,, the Wonder Wheel looks awesome. I've been diggin' up all the info I can on that thing. The instruction manual says it has a brake. Can you take some picts of the brake and other different parts of it and post them? Which wheel do you have? they show two different spoke types on their site www.gauswheel.com. One looks like a pretty standard spoke set up, and the other is a four spoke mag look. Looks like they could be carbon maybe. I'd love to role down the bike trail on this and watch peoples jaws drop. I have to see when they will be making their way to America. Is the ride pretty decent? Is it easy to master riding? Im pretty envious :) Keep us posted and Im sorry for hijacking the thread... By the way, I'd love an adult sized kick-n-go too :)

Bicycles not unicycles... Two balls, Two Wheels! Get it, Got it, Good! :)

These type of "scooters" (found some lighter, cheaper ones ) is a good source for parts when modifying folders. Best maybe if you wait until the kids has lost interest in them..:D

yeah I got some of those alloy silver scooters.

The shop was selling them for £5.
I used the foam grips off them on my bike cheaper than bike shop grips.

Was thinking of using the steering stem on a folder.
But its kind of feeble and theres no extension to it.
Might use the deck as a rack top on a bike

I got a Mini bike in the river.
Its stronger built.
Has a normal sort of MTB tube stem...then a long rise up to bars.
But the stem was a large diameter. Wouldnt fit old bikes.
was all rusty too.

I saw in a toy shop a scooter that has a pivoted bar. You stand on it with both feet.
then rock up and down.
Theres a chain to the wheel.
It was priced about £150 so too expensive for a novelty toy.

I envy you actually got one of those Magic Wheel.
The Gaus wheel seems to come from same designer.

I guess the Magic is made in China and Gaus in Hungary?

Wonder why they shifted to the four spokes instead of a
standard wheel.

How long did it take you to learn to be confident on it.
Compare it to other things one must master before being
confident on them. Monowheel is more difficult to keep
balance on than this getting support of the rear wheel?

Have you fallen with it?

The opinion on this thing seems to be polarized. One either
like it or mock it. I liked it at first sight and wrote about it
in another place here in BF and later had pointed out to me
there was an older thread about it.

In that thread they where very negative about it.
So I know it feels. :) Happy that you like it though.
Then we at least share a positive view on the Magic Wheel.

Would it be easy to make one oneself? Would be fun to try.
I have the parts that is needed except the foot stand things
to stand on and the pad and protection of legs.

Here is the oldest thread about Magic Wheel.

I like what I wrote here
http://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.php?p=6026780&postcount=18

Ithink it is a clever invention that Magyar guy did.

Steve ,sorry we take over the thread with an unrelated product.

The one you write about is interesting too. The mechanism to power the rear wheel.
We had the one where you stand on a platform and take alternative pumping with
front foot and rear foot and they got out of fashion so this could a be bettered version
of the old ones. Some two years ago. Have you actually seen one? How is the power
transferred?

I've seen bounce bikes from the 30's and 40's. It's not a new invention and there's one for sale but I've never seen one.

The wheel on that "bounce Bike" has got to be fun to build and true... Yikes! You could easily make a bounce bike it looks like. Its all based on the wheel build.

Yes, but there are also the variant where you stand on a platform and take turn pushing down the front part and the rear part while the newest variant only use the rear one. That seems less complicated and not so heavy due to less parts in it. would be less costly to build for the company.

I would love such on my Double Kickbike from Finland. To pump down a pedal is less demanding than
to push on an wet icy street in winter. So I want to see pictures of how it is done. :)

I test rode the Kick n Go at Toys R Us and loved it. I was so close to buying one because it's not slow at all and this thing is about as fast as a single speed CarryMe! The clerks at the store had to get me off! It does take some time to get the balance but once you do, Oh my GOD! I'm still thinking of going back to pick one up! ;-)

I think Toys R Us had another model for adults but I'm not positive. Regardless, It's not that small and an adult like me (5'7) does not feel confined at all. That thing can roll! Unlike a Kick Xooter, you don't have to wear sneakers and dress shoes are possible. You can't go backward but then again, who's doing that.

I would have purchased one but the handlebar does not fold and that is a huge minus. It's a fairly large package without the ability to fold. I'm going to look at it again and see if you can remove the handlebar since there is a quick release which allows you to raise and lower the post.

Another minus, it weights alot, I suspect over 20 lbs but not over 24 'lbs. Overall, not a bad product.

Nice. I'll have to try one.

Also, apparently it does fold. Toysrus.com says "Internal downtube folding mechanism lets you easily store and transport your Pulse Kick 'N Go without sacrificing responsiveness or, more importantly, safety." It's demonstrated here in the video manual:

The handlebar does come apart but it hangs loose and stays attached with the brake cable. I wish they would borrow the folding techology of the kick Xooter which is more elegant. I also wish the brake was on the Front wheel instead of the rear.

Overall, not a bad product for a first attempt.

i hate to bring back an old thread but I was wondering if anyone has any idea where I can find an adult version of these things. I definitely saw a guy riding a different adult model with a shorter "kick bar" in Manhattan last month but didn't think to stop and ask where he got it. These look like great fun and perfect for getting around my college campus.

There's only one version of this kick scooter. I'm 5'7 so it was perfect, however, I don't think someone over 5'9 could benefit.
