Foo - Cats Are Stupid

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well, at least my cat. She likes to sleep between my feet and legs while I'm asleep, and last night I woke up to intense pain. She decided it would be the perfect time to let blood out of my right heel. I guess I rolled on top of her or something because she's usually pretty docile, but it's her own fault for sleeping there. Then, while I climbed out of bed and hobbled around for a while, cleaning up the blood, she just followed me around, rubbing up against my leg like nothing happened. Stupid Cat. Pics to follow...

yeah, that happens. our cats often find the absolute worst places to fall asleep it's a wonder they're not dead yet.

My cats don't sleep with me (their choice) but one of them (Tinder) has drawn blood a few times...
The two cats that have access to my bedroom do insist on getting some petting when I go to bed, but as soon as I stop petting them they get bored and jump off the bed.

If cats were the size of people and people were the size of cats, they wouldn't treat us like pets...

I have to say that she doesn't look especially happy in that photo.

No, they'd treat us like dinner.

She's never happy about having her pic taken. Maybe she thinks I'm stealing her soul. :p

My cats are not allowed on the bed. I'm a nocturnal kicker, and once upon a time I kicked a cat off the bed so hard it hit the wall. She was fine, but to lend credence to the thread title...she'd try to get back on the bed every chance she could. Now we just keep the door shut.

Oh, I thought you were going to show us blood & mangled foot. Your cat looks like she's just waiting for you to fall asleep again. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f155/tacksharp/smilie_evil_cat.gif http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f155/tacksharp/smilie_evil_eyes.gif

I have two cats. Each cat has lit itself on fire while investigating candle flames. More than once. Needless to say, I do not burn candles anymore.
Yes, cats are not the smartest creatures around (but they still beat the dog paws down - and I'm not totally sure they aren't smarter than ME, some days...).
I'm actually thinking of retiring from my job and letting Tugger the IT Kitty take over the computer business.
He's competent, punctual and quite a poofy-fluff adornment to any person's desk.

Plus, he's quite smart - learns easily - and is totally funny when I reprimand him and he "beotches" back with a low meow/grunt - this is his "Yeah I know I'm Wrong ... but" response. Smart cat.
hehe (just kidding on the retiring btw)
A couple of other cats from the same rescue litter - I'd not say the same thing about them. One perhaps - she's a smartypuss! But there's one cat who is a total dunce.

We had the dumbest (but sweetest) cat on the planet years ago. He forgot who we were. We didn't go anywhere. We were sitting in the living room when he walked in but he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw us. His eyes widened and then started walking slowly backwards away. When I moved towards him he panicked and tried to run away but his back legs decided to run in the opposite direction from the rest of him. It was hilarious, like a cartoon.
He was shocked when he sneezed for the first time. His expression looked like "whoah. what was that?"
I miss that cat! He was a whackjob.
