Okay, the PBP (http://www.rusa.org/pbphistory.html) is a little outside of the Colorado area. I posted a response about a CO brevet and I got to thinking about the next PBP ...again. It's been on my mind a 'bit.

I want to qualify for the next one in 2011. I'm dreaming of riding it fixed - I'm having that frame built this July. It'll be a Sacha White creation ...yummy. Maybe I'm totally full of it - hard to tell when I have three and a half years to go before the ride begins again.

Anywho... If there are any of you local yokels who would like to group up for some brevets, populaires, or just some get-together century rides, then by all means shout it out here.

In fact, check out the sticky that Snowy put up on the homegrown - grassroots - unofficial - not sanctioned Triple Bypass (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=386415) ride that'll happen this summer. That'll be a blast - trust me. We're gonna (whoever we are) style this event. It's gonna be relaxed, social, funny and super duper friendly.

I'm thinking a sleep-over at my place for anybody who wants to hang out in Dillon the day before - take a little pedal around the reservoir. Then during the ride we can stop over at my place for a lunch as a group. After the ride we'll celebrate in Avon somewhere - something like that.

Well....I've been dreaming of the PBP as well. I'm thinking of starting with some RUSA rides this summer to see if sleep deprivation is really my thing. There is also a 1400k brevet (http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/London-Edinburgh-London-2005)from London to Edinburgh to London that sounds nice. Apparently, due to the latitude and time of year, you can actually do this one during daylight hours only if you're fast enough.

I'm dreaming smaller dreams. Going to try a 200K and maybe a 300K this year. Of course, if I find them amusing (and I probably will) I will go for something longer. The PBP would be cool someday.

I'm going to do at least a few 200K's with L (you met) so look at the RMCC Schedule and be in touch. It's not a brevet unless it's a sanctioned RUSA event, though just a long bike ride. We may do some 300's but we will start small.

edit to add: it must be timed to be a brevet, too,
