Has anyone ever seen somebody do something like this before, or know of anyone who does this to derailleurs? I found this whilst browsing the Weight Weenies 'cross forum - http://www.light-bikes.it/forum/index.php?topic=759.0

I had a bottom pull derailleur on my old CX bike. the manufacturer, Condor Cycles, got around the problem by mounting a pulley on the seat tube just below the derailleur clamp.

http://cyclocrossworld.stores.yahoo.net/derclamwitpu.html

I'm trying to put campy stuff in a city commuter bike and i have the same problem. THe crappy FD is top pull and the one i want to put is low pull and all the bosses and stuff are comming from the top. Just a few days ago i saw a bike with that pulley mark has in his bike/ picture. It was a Fuji cross bike, sofar theguys at the store were clueless even about the name of the pulley or something. Well usually in that place the guys are clueless anyways. Looking here and there I found the one u might be looking for,

Thanks...

ok I came up with a simple way to do this w/o having to spend so much money.

Go to lowes and get a TOUCHDOWN universal pipe clamp (http://www.siouxchief.com/Frm_MS.cfm)

In my case i grabed the one that goes from 3/8 to 1 3/8 inches. (is like 1,50 for a 5 units pack)

Buy a travel agent in your fav. LBS for 15 bucks maybe.

Take the pulley off the Travel agent, keep the washers, the center bolt and nut. The Clamp has two parts, the part that has the "legs" has a hole in the middle, drill the hole a little bit so the travel agent bolt fits tight trought it. Put the washers, put the pulley and the nut. Done!

Put some plastic tape in the frame where the clamp will be located. I have a tape that looks like rubber so the frame will be well protected, put the clamp very tight. Done!

I think u guys got the idea.

Good luck :)
