I'm looking at a '03 Giant TCR 1, all Ultegra, carbon fork but aluminum seat stays. It's been ridden a fair amount but in good shape. He's willing to sell the entire bike or just the frame. Any thoughts on what it's worth either way? Also, I really want a triple. Would I be better off buying it as frame only and building it or buying it complete and just replacing all the drive train. I should say that I'm also on a bit of a budget.

What is your budget? Sierratradingpost.com has a nice K2 Mod 3.0 bike with carbon stays and full 105 for $799. But they also have a 20% off coupon which knocks the price down to $650.

I bought a brand new '03 TCR1 for $1400. So if it is used, I'd say don't pay more than $1000 for the whole bike. I guess it also depends on "how used" it is. If it is in perfect condition, maybe go as much as $1200.
