Hey Guys,

Today is a new day; I finally took the plunge and have committed to tri's with the purcahse of the BMC TT03.

I'm not very knowledgable on the TT bike scene even though I've been riding bikes for a while. There are some really tremendous TT bikes out there for the money. It's taken some time to research all the options available.

I can only speak for myself, but it was a true challenge deciding on a bike. Call me different, but I chose the BMC TT03; I'm sure there are those on the board who would ask, "Why?" Several reasons actually, mostly because I couldn't find any substantial information on this bike. I know the road based bikes are quite good, so there must be a reason why the TT03 ins't very popular. What I learned is that for the money, it's not well equipped compared to the competition. So, with that knowledge I approached a very reputable LBS and talked it over with them. They sell a lot of differrent brands but after talking to them about my goals, they talked to me about BMC. After looking at how the bike came spec'ed out, I decided to build up the bike a bit - and based upon that have come to the conclusion this is a GOOD bike for the money, but you have to be creative. I'm pretty fortunate, my LBS was extremely helpful with the options to upgrade without killing my budget.

Well – here she is.

Fresh pics of the TT03 – just picked it up today.

Here are the specs:

TT03 – Aluminum frame with carbon seat post

Fork – Easton Aero 90 carbon

Seat - Selle Italia XO

Bars – Profile Design Carbon X 1.5

Groupo – Ultegra SL

Pedals – Look Keo Sprint

Wheels – Mavic Cosmic Carbone (700 clinchers)

As you can see, I’ve upgraded most everything on the bike, but am quite pleased with the overall package. Now I just need saddle time to work out the kinks and fit.

Enjoy - if anyone else owns one of these I'd love to hear from you.

That is one hot bike! I like it a lot.

Do you know if any shops sell just the frame or frameset?

The TT02 is just the frame.

Hey Speedy TSO,

The computer is from Sigma Sport -the model is BC 1606L dts wireless + cadence:

The computer is new to me; I've always had Cateye's so the jury is still out.

I'll know more in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the complements on the bike.

Nice bike! Does the TT03 have a "triathlon" seat angle of 76-78 degrees, or is it like the TT01 with an older, time-trial style 73 degree seat angle?

I believe the seat angle is 74 degrees.

I've got one - It's nice, though it takes some time to learn which buttons do what. There are lots of buttons and lots of functions. Sometimes you sit there scrolling through desperately trying to find some particular function - then missing it and having to go through again.

Also, for the OP - Tubes with 60mm stems fit the Cosmics Carbones quite well - they peak out of the rim just enough without being huge and without requiring extensions.

Before you burn the retina of other innocent bystanders out in the course, please take off those red tires. They make an otherwise classy and sophisticated bike like yours look cheap, trashy, and common. Sort of like adding a polyester liner to a a coat made of baby seal skin..............

I thought it may be the Sigma BC1606L and just wanted to be sure.

What's the major difference b/w TT02 and TT03? Are we talking about aluminum vs carbon?

I think it's alu/carbon v. full aluminum.
